What Is an Isolated (ISO) Spore Syringe?
An isolated spore syringe starts from a strong multi-spore culture, then goes through several rounds of selection and stabilization to lock in a single, repeatable phenotype. Instead of a diverse population, you get one refined, true-to-type genetic.
We produce every isolate with in-house agar work — selecting and stabilizing a single genetic across multiple rounds on agar plates in our own lab, rather than sourcing it. Because that genetic is uniform and vigorous instead of a mixed population, an isolated syringe colonizes faster and more predictably than a standard multi-spore syringe, and in that consistency it behaves much more like a liquid culture — about as close to liquid-culture reliability as a single-genetic syringe gets.

Isolated Syringe or Liquid Culture?
Because both carry a single, true-to-type genetic, an isolate and a liquid culture behave far more predictably than a multi-spore syringe. The difference is the format:
Isolated spore syringe — one lab-selected, stabilized genetic produced through our in-house agar isolation. Because it's a single uniform, vigorous culture rather than a mixed spore population, it colonizes faster and far more consistently than a standard multi-spore syringe.
Liquid culture — living mycelium of one genetic that skips germination entirely for the fastest, most vigorous start, but is best used sooner than stored.
