Cordyceps Ophiocordyceps Sinensis 10cc Liquid Culture Syringe
Ultra-Rare. Experimental. A True Challenge for Advanced Growers.
Discover one of the most elusive and highly studied gourmet fungi with the Cordyceps sinensis (Ophiocordyceps sinensis) 10cc Liquid Culture Syringe from Spore Genetics. Known for its long history, high-altitude ecology, and unique life cycle, Cordyceps sinensis remains one of the most difficult mushroom species to cultivate. This LC is intended for advanced growers, researchers, and mycologists who enjoy pushing the boundaries of fungal cultivation.
While successful fruiting is rare, working with this species offers invaluable insight into exotic mycelial behavior, specialized substrates, and unique growth requirements.
Cultivation Profile
Growth Characteristics:
Extremely slow and unpredictable colonizer. Most successful growth occurs in controlled lab environments or specialized high-altitude simulations. Fruiting at home is considered experimental and inconsistent.
Ideal Conditions
Colonization: 55–65°F (13–18°C), stable, cool temperatures
Substrates: Traditionally parasitic on insect larvae; cultivated attempts often involve nutrient-enriched rice or custom mediums
Fruiting: 50–60°F with 80–90% humidity when environmental triggers align
Lighting: Gentle, indirect light; avoid strong artificial lighting
Flushes: Generally one if successful; most projects do not achieve fruiting
Important Note:
This species is far more challenging than Cordyceps Militaris. It is best suited for experimental setups, advanced mycology study, and long-term research.
Harvest Timing
If fruiting occurs, harvest when the stromata reach full coloration and stop elongating—typically short, club-like structures.
