Grow one of the most unique and visually stunning gourmet mushrooms with the Snow Fungus (Tremella fuciformis) 10cc Liquid Culture Syringe from Spore Genetics. Known for its delicate, gelatinous, snow-white fronds and cloud-like appearance, Snow Fungus or Snow Jelly mushrooms are widely used in Asian cuisine and valued for its texture. Unlike standard gourmet mushrooms, Tremella species require a host fungus—most commonly Annulohypoxylon archeri—to fruit successfully.

This LC is intended for intermediate to advanced growers who enjoy exotic cultivation projects and dual-culture techniques.

Cultivation Profile

Growth Characteristics:
Slow to moderate colonizer that forms translucent, frilly, jelly-like fruiting bodies. Absolutely requires a compatible host fungus to complete its lifecycle.

Ideal Conditions

Colonization: 65–75°F (18–24°C)

Primary Substrate: Hardwood sawdust, woodchips, or logs that have been pre-colonized by a host fungus (commonly A. archeri)

Fruiting: 60–75°F with 85–95% humidity

Fresh Air: Moderate FAE to maintain shape without dehydrating the gelatinous tissue

Flushes: Often multiple small flushes across long time periods when host mycelium is thriving

Host Requirement
Snow Fungus will not fruit on sterile substrates alone. It must parasitize a compatible fungus to form fruiting bodies. The most common pairing is:

Host: Annulohypoxylon archeri

Parasite: Tremella fuciformis

Growers should fully colonize the substrate with the host species before introducing Tremella.

Harvest Timing

Harvest when fronds are fully expanded, semi-transparent, and still firm. Avoid over-drying; Snow Fungus loses shape quickly without humidity.
