Psilocybe Ochraceocentrata aff. Natalensis Isolated Spore Syringe – 10cc | Spore Genetics
Also known as Psilocybe natalensis, Psilocybe ochraceocentrata, or “The South African Cubensis”
Originally collected in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, during the mid-1990s, the Psilocybe ochraceocentrata aff. natalensis Isolated Spore Syringe represents one of the most important recent taxonomic clarifications in modern mycology. Once thought to be a regional variety of Psilocybe cubensis known as P. natalensis, recent DNA sequencing confirmed it as a distinct species — Psilocybe ochraceocentrata. The name translates to “ochre center,” referencing the golden-brown hue radiating from the middle of its cap, a defining visual trait.
The first known specimens were gathered from fertilized cattle pastures near Royal Natal National Park (1994–1998) by a team including Derek Reid, one of the most influential mycologists of the 20th century. Since then, this psilocybe mushroom strain has been celebrated for its disease resistance, aggressive mycelial growth, and resilience under laboratory conditions.
Each syringe contains 10cc of high-density Psilocybe ochraceocentrata isolated spores, prepared in our ISO-7 certified cleanroom to guarantee purity and stability. Under the microscope, these spores showcase elliptical profiles, dark purplish-brown pigmentation, and a vigorous germination pattern that distinguishes them from related cubensis species.
