Black Fungus (Annulohypoxylon archeri) 10cc Liquid Culture Syringe

Essential Host. Hardwood Specialist. Advanced Dual-Cultivation Focus.

Introduce a unique and highly specialized fungal mycelium into your lab or grow space with the Black Fungus (Annulohypoxylon archeri) 10cc Liquid Culture Syringe from Spore Genetics. This isolate is a hardwood-decay specialist and is most often used as a host fungus for complex cultivation projects (such as pairing with jelly mushrooms like Tremella fuciformis). It’s ideal for advanced cultivators who wish to explore dual-culture techniques, host-parasite systems, or hardwood-based log and block setups.

While fruiting of Annulohypoxylon archeri itself may not be the primary objective, establishing strong mycelial growth of this species opens the door to specialty cultivation workflows and unique fungal ecosystems.

Cultivation Profile

Growth Characteristics:
Saprobic on hardwoods; colonizes dead or decaying hardwood stumps and logs. This species is used as a substrate host for other fungi and excels on wood-rich substrates.

Ideal Conditions

Colonization: ~65–75 °F (18–24 °C) on sterilized or pasteurized hardwood sawdust, wood chips or logs

Substrates: Hardwood sawdust blocks, logs, buried hardwood chips or segments

Fruiting / Application: While direct fruiting may be limited, this fungus is intended to establish host mycelium. After full colonization, a second species (such as Tremella fuciformis) may be introduced.

Flushes / Usage: This is more of a host culture than a high-yield fruiting species. Expect the primary goal to be strong colonization rather than multiple flushes.

Important Note:
This culture is best suited for experienced growers who understand dual-culture or host/substrate dynamics. It is not a beginner “plug-and-fruit” gourmet strain in the usual sense.
